Drills - Part IV
This week is a continuation from last week. There are a few more drills we can give you to separate your body from your arms so you can play better golf.
Criss Cross Drill
This is a great drill because you can do it on the golf course, the driving range, or even at home. This drill involves taking an iron and laying it horizontally across your shoulders. Then, take your arms and criss cross them so that they are holding the golf club. Once you are in the ready position at address, make a full turn so that the club shaft points down toward the ball. This will give you the feeling that your body should be in as you complete your backswing.
Resistance Drill
Another great drill to try is called the resistance drill. First, you will need to put your left foot back about 12 inches. You will then want to take a full swing with a club in hand. By putting your left foot back slightly, you will be able to feel the resistance of your turn more than if your left foot was in its regular position. This will help you feel where the turn is most important in the swing.
Working on your body’s turn will help you swing better and improve your scores. Let us know if you have any questions.
